Diagnosing Organizations’ Cultural Meanings: A Logoteleological Approach

Slide1

Luis A. Marrero, M.A., RODP, LLC will be facilitating the Diagnosing Organizations’ Cultural Meanings: A Logoteleological Approach workshop during the 9th Biennial International Meaning Conference in Toronto, Canada, July 28-31, 2016. He will be joining leading psychologists from around the world in exploring meaning-centered approaches to questions of spiritual meaning, human flourishing , and social justice.

His workshop will outline a logoteleological (meaningful purpose psychology [MPP]) approach to diagnose an institutions’ ability to engage employees. Meaningful Purpose Psychology’s Organization Development (MPPOD) method states that current organizational propositions and theory as intrinsically flawed and outdated, and – as a rule – unable to generate intrinsic environments where all stakeholders are able to thrive and benefit. MPPOD proposes that it is very difficult, if not impossible, for change initiatives to generate sustained engaging work environments as long as the meaning fundamentals are not aligned to serve all stakeholders. He calls the MPPOD approach “Second Wave Organization Development” or OD2.0.

During the interactive workshop participants will:

learn some of the fundamentals of meaningful purpose psychology (MPP) or logoteleology
review the engagement problem within organizations
leverage MPP theory to understand the underlying root causes to disengagement
learn and practice a methodology to assess cultural meanings and their implications
