Our Mission
We help people realize their potential to grow and thrive through meaningful purpose.
The Boston Institute for Meaningful Purpose is the hub of meaningful purpose psychology or logoteleology research and development.
The Institute was founded by Luis A. Marrero, M.A., RODP, LLP, in 1986 in the City of Boston, Massachusetts. It currently has its main office in Westfield, Massachusetts, and a field office in Deltona, Florida. Luis is the pioneer of meaningful purpose psychology and Second Wave Organization Development (OD 2.0) and the author of The Path to a Meaningful Purpose: Psychological Foundations of Logoteleology. The Path is the first book in a planned anthology on meaningful purpose psychology.
His second book, co-authored with Daniel Persuitte, titled, Meaningful Purpose: A Primer in Logoteleology, was published in May 2022.
Meaningful Purpose Psychology (MPP) is the scientific study of the meanings that enable people and institutions to thrive and succeed. MPP has a positive and optimistic view of humans and their potential for good.
The field came to be as a result of a paradox. As Luis wrote in his book: “Mankind, I concluded, does not suffer from a lack of answers. rather, it suffers despite the answers being available.” MPP confidently explains why problems persist — even when solutions are readily available — and provides methods to overcome intractable problems. Hence, we train, certify and license therapists, coaches, organization development consultants, mentors and leadership development facilitators on MPP’s practical methods to enable people and institutions to succeed in their noble purpose. The Boston Institute for Meaningful Purpose also serves individuals, groups, and global companies in various countries.
